We are often asked: Should I monitor my progress by taking my body measurements or is weighing better? ⚖️🤓👍
Successful weight loss is so often better shown by the monitoring of body measurements than by regular weighing! This is due to the relatively high protein content in our nutrition plans where connective tissue and muscles are rebuilt in the body. Muscle weighs more than fat, but also has less volume, i. e. it takes up less space than fat. So if 10 kg fat was lost and 6 kg muscle gained, only 4 kg difference may be seen on the scale. But if we look at body measurements, we often see reductions of 10-15 cm which is 1-2 dress sizes!
Learning to let go of the emotions around a number on the scales is so important for long term health and happiness. It’s all about health and feeling good in your body – that’s the key goal!
